Traffic ring puzzle

Objective: Promote eye-hand coordination and visual perception

Material: Puzzle from Hape*

Preparation: The 3 puzzle pieces are placed on the left side of the tray, the frame to the right.

Execution: The child sorts the 3 puzzle pieces into the right frame. Older children turn the pieces of the puzzle to the correct side and puzzle the car together to form a correct picture (this is a two-sided puzzle).

Sorting box 1 piece

Objective: Promote eye-hand coordination and shape perception

Material: Sorting box from Small Foot*, paper, tape, scissors, basket

Preparation: In order not to have to buy a special Montessori sorting box, we have this trick for you. Cut out a piece of paper that fits exactly on the lid of the sorting box, but leaves one of the 4 holes free. This is well attached to the lid with tape. Then the corresponding piece is placed to the left of the box in the basket and both are placed on the tray.

Execution: The child throws the shape through the corresponding untaped hole into the box, opens it, takes the piece out again and starts over. To slowly increase the difficulty, the circle can be started first, followed by the square, triangle, and finally the heart. When the child has mastered all 4 shapes individually, two can be taped off. In this way, the level of difficulty can be continuously increased until the child can finally work with all 4 parts without a box taped on.
This work promotes not only the shape perception but also the motor skills of the child.
