Wooden sound building blocks basket

Objective: Promote auditory perception

Material: Wooden sound blocks* (these aren’t exactly the same like on the picture, because they are not available in the US, but they are similar), small basket

Preparation: The sound blocks are placed in the basket, which in turn is placed either directly on the shelf or on a tray.

Execution: The children explore the sound blocks and clear out the basket. This trains auditory perception, as each wooden brick makes a different sound when shaken. Afterwards, the bricks are put back into the basket; older children can do this on their own.
